Howdy

Hey Y’all,

Just checking in.Things here have warmed up considerably.  Mom has had the windows open.  Unfortunately, that also means the mosquitoes and ticks are out.  Dad ordered me my Heart Worm medicine.  It is 2 months earlier than usual.  I’m hoping that with the freeze this next week some of those nasty bugs disappear.

I’m pretty much back to my normal self.  Jumping on and off the furniture, running the stairs, and barking at everything.  I’m still a bit slow on the wood floors but, I’m learning how to keep my footing.  Mom is enjoying the extra snuggle time.  I generally like to stay where she puts me unless the baby drops food for me.  I like the baby…she likes to share with me 🙂

Mom looked at the info on building a wobble board.  She says that is going to be one of dad’s projects now that the weather is getting nice.

Well, I just figured I’d check in.  Mom wants to take me out for my last potty break so she can go to bed.

Take Care and keep hoppin 🙂

3 week Ampuversary

Sorry, It’s been awhile.  Mom has been busy with me and my bipawd siblings so I haven’t been able to snag the computer.

I’m doing pretty well although , mom has cut down on the peanut butter sandwiches and the gravy in my kibble.

I got my stitches out last week  which feels a lot better.  Things aren’t as itchy and I don’t have to wear my collar any more.

Today we are having a snow storm.  So far 15 inches of snow which poses a problem as I am only 12.5 inches tall.  Mom went out with her snow shoes and made me a path.

I like to try and tunnel through the snow.  Mom is happy I have a leash so I don’t get lost.

Today i also got to run around the house a bit with my siblings.  I discovered the floors are slippery and mom said she is going to have to get some throw rugs for me.  Right now I’m chilling back in my pen.  Mom said I can come out again after a nap

See Ya’ll later,

I’ll post some snow pics

One Week Ampuversary

Howdy,

This past Wednesday was my one week ampuversary.  Things are going fairly well although, we celebrated with another trip to the vet.  My mom got slightly freaked out because my tongue and gums were about the color of my teeth.  The vet was concerned that I was hemorrhaging so she had us come in.  I know mom was concerned because instead of finding a babysitter she loaded all the kids ( I have 2 two legged sisters and 1 two legged brother) in the Jeep and took them with us.  My four legged brother stayed home. (I think he maybe a monkey butt…That will be explored in another post)

Thankfully, I am only anemic.  The vet thinks one of my meds may have caused or aggravated a stomach ulcer.  I also found out that I have to wear this stupid e-collar for 3 extra days.  I was suppose to get my stitches out on Monday but, now I have to wait til Thursday 🙁

On the up side mom now gives me 5 peanut butter sandwiches a day in stead of 2.  Peanut butter must be a wonderful substance as I feel better the more I eat 🙂

I let mom get a picture of me on my one week ampuversary.  I was a bit concerned with showing my wounds so you’ll notice how happy I was to have a fluffy tail.

It’s time for bed so I will sign off till next time.  I hope you have a wonderful night,

A New Adventure

Howdy,

My name is Doogy.  I am a miniature American Eskimo.  On February 8th 2012 I entered into a brand new leg of the adventure I call life.  (All pun intended 🙂 It all started on February 7th 2012 when I broke my right rear femur into 3 pieces.

The doc was hoping to be able save my leg by pinning it together.  Unfortunately, 1 of the 3 pieces was to small to pin.  The doc had no option but to amputate.  It will be one week tomorrow.  I am amazing my family by wanting to run all over.  My mom has to kennel me so I will rest.  I have already escaped after a potty break and tried out the stairs.  I think I’m glad I’m little as they weren’t too bad.  I have also started hopping on my one back leg (yes, my front paws are in the air) to let my mom know I’m excited to go out.  For some reason she doesn’t like this.  Maybe she’ll chill out a bit once my stitches are out.

Well, that’s it for tonight.  My peanut butter sandwich is making me sleepy.  (I’m beginning to think mom is putting something in it but, it is too good not to eat.)

Hopefully, mom will help me post a picture tomorrow.  Although that means I have to sit still long enough to have one taken.

Til Next Time,

Doogy
